Hello there! I'm Kelan.

Bio

I live in Larkspur, CA, in beautiful Marin County.

I've worked as a software engineer for 18 years, focusing on building Mac and iOS most of that time. Mostly recnetly I was a Staff Engineer at Whatnot, leading the App Platform team. Before that, I was at Apple for 5 years, where I worked on SpringBoard (including Stage Manager on iPad, Widgets on iOS, the (original) iPad Cursor) and Shortcuts (including building Personal Automations). Before that, the iOS tech lead at Upthere, built the Found Mac app , and worked on the Mac, iPhone, and iPad apps at Sonos.

In a past life, I designed and built mechanical things (such as ion thrusters) at a plasma physics research lab. I was this close to being an actual rocket scientist.
