It Happened in Soledad

I was disheartened to learn that Soledad has updated their famous sign.

I don’t think I even risk sounding curmudgeonly by saying I prefer the old one. I mean, this new one literally blends into the background. And, no mention of the Mission anymore? Apparently there is now 50% less happening in Soledad. Actually, 100% less, because “Gateway to the Pinnacles” implies that’s not even happening there.

This sure makes me glad I got my shirt when I did, and was able to capture this photo before it was too late.
